Lovebirds – Effortless Styling Solution For Everyday Wear
In 2010 when lovebirds launched as a curated vintage store in Delhi, I was slightly heartbroken. Since they were not available online, I only had a display window access to the lovely vintage fashion pieces they were selling, and could not indulge.
Lovebirds was the first organized, concept vintage store in India that I was aware of, and it was incredibly fascinating. A store like this meant we, the Indian consumers were finally not treating vintage, collectable clothes and accessories as hand-me-downs. A niche group may be, but the inception of this idea was a milestone.
Despite having made a firm mental note of this store, located in Hauz Khas, Delhi I could not visit it on two of my Delhi trips in the past four years. And slowly I lost track of the brand’s progression.
However, after going through their Lakme Fashion Week debut collection, I am thrilled to learn that Lovebirds have now moved on to become a concept design store showcasing designs conceived by designers Amrita Khanna and Gursi Singh.
Free from unnecessary ostentatious design aesthetics, Lovebirds sticks with a minimalist idea and this is refreshing. Boxy shoulders, length of dresses that will impress prim girls, tunics with pockets, lots of crisp stripes, layers and clean cuts are some of the designs they have to offer
Available at Lovebirds, New Delhi and Bungalow 8, Mumbai.
