Men in Bhutan
About six months ago, I was shooting with Dhanesh, a visual merchandiser with Lifestyle. One of the jackets he was wearing, which was made by him was one of the fanciest jackets I have seen in recent times and the fabric used he said was royal silk from Bhutan.
I’ve been obsessing over Bhutan for a long time now, but this time after meeting Dhanesh it was for different reasons. It was for the clothes they wear. The Plaids, the silk, and the robes, so exquisite!
For the two weeks that I was there, I met a whole bunch of Bhutanese people from various backgrounds. And the first thing I’d ask them was if it were okay for me to take a picture of what they are wearing.
They may be all wearing the same attire, which is also their traditional wear and their formal clothes, and it is also a must while they are working. But, there is something distinctive about how each embraces it in their unique way.
In Bhutan, I not only got to experience the happiest kingdom in the world! I also got to enjoy a visual textile treat (If you are into things like that) I love traditional fabrics, and I love textiles, I pick up stuff from everywhere I go. So Bhutan, goes without saying is heaven if you follow a similar school of thought.
