Hanging out by the Mysore-Bangalore road corridor is a good idea on a not so lazy Sunday. This time however I decided to drive all the way to Mysore, since it had been a good 4 years from the previous visit. Reached Mysore by the end of a lovely 3 hour drive, with the mandatory breakfast pit stop at Kamath.
My memories of the Herculean Mysore palace was faded. It was time for a re-visit. The day being a Sunday, I expected half the people of Mysore to be lazying at home and then assumed the other half would have been quite bored of the palace (since it’s always there). Expecting to be greeted just by tourists like me , made an evening appearance.
Turns out that the natives of Mysore are quite an active bunch and it looked like visiting the palace was a favorite time pass for them, an arduous affair for me and my entourage . Thanks to the deluge of people we decided to strut outside the palace. I pouted and then giggled took some pictures. Struck off ”have to see the palace again” from my list and drove back to Bangalore. However the fact that it has an old world charm cannot be overlooked.
