I love to travel with company. More often than not my plans don’t work out because of different schedules and not so compatible travel itineraries. This is one of the reasons why I started wandering around by myself. The first time I traveled solo was to Pondicherry about three years ago. Bought myself a train ticket and spent three good days on the east cost. That trip helped me get out of my comfort zone and experience things I wouldn’t have, if I were with travel companions.
The nagging question is , how do you entertain yourself ? Seek and you shall find. My first instinct is to collect flyers and go through all the posters pasted on the walls. The posters help you come up with definitive plans and pushes you to try things you would not have otherwise.
I found trekking partners who I shared a tent with. Watched movies screened on a projector with strangers. Attended a crazy performance yoga session for a week post which I am sure all my bones are twisted for life. Almost took off to Kashmir with an old friend I bumped into, while I was in Himachal but did not because of the incessant snowing and I was only carrying spring/summer clothes.
It can be overbearing at times since we live in a country that does not encourage women to push boundaries but you must try it at-least once for the experience.
